Rights & release information

Copyright, sources, and attribution

Scrub Notes offers free educational practice in healthcare. Factual medical knowledge, learning methods, and publicly funded reference material remain available on their own terms. Our copyright notice applies only to expressive material in which the actual rights holder owns an enforceable copyright.

1. Scope of copyright claim

© 2026 Scrub Notes. Rights reserved only in eligible original, human-authored expression and other content lawfully owned by the claimant. This notice does not claim ownership of medical facts, individual rhythms, algorithms, public-domain government work, open-licensed material, or third-party copyrighted text or graphics.

The Study Passport progression, teaching interactions, simulated ECG designs, and page layouts may include functional aspects that copyright does not protect; protection, if any, concerns sufficiently original eligible expressive implementation and arrangement.

2. References and license details

The references and table of contents list instructional references and clearly distinguish cited references from licensed adaptations. The Open RN materials identify CC BY 4.0 licensing, subject to separately credited exceptions in a specific resource. We provide license references and do not imply institutional endorsement.

3. Medications and labeling

Drug names, mechanisms, contraindications and other scientifically established facts can generally be explained in original words. This is different from copying third-party drug monographs, packaging art, or a proprietary database. The Medication Mastery catalog uses brief study explanations and links to DailyMed for product-specific labeling. Those links are not a claim that all medication cards have been individually checked against current SPL or FDA-approved labeling.

DailyMed's NLM disclaimer notes its current submitted label may differ from the latest FDA-approved label. Confirm with Drugs@FDA where appropriate. Never use the learning catalog for patient-specific dosing.

4. Human and AI-assisted work

The website was developed with AI assistance. Human choices about goals, content selection, organization, editing, and testing should be documented separately from machine-generated expression. Neither the copyright notice nor the registration of selected human-authored components extends ownership over AI-generated expression as such.

5. Release and clinical-review status

As of October 26, 2026, the clinical review ledger identifies 378 learning items, 300 medication entries, 22 interaction examples and 17 chapters. This is an editorial inventory, not a credentialed medical signoff or complete copyright-provenance certification. External research and drug-label coverage remain uneven. Do not infer independent accuracy or ownership for every item merely because a source appears in a reference list.

This page is general information, not legal advice or a declaration that any particular copyright registration has been accepted. For copyright filings see U.S. Copyright Office; for medical practice use a licensed professional and current official clinical references.
